Frequently Asked Questions about Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
A helpful guide to terminology with a FAQ designed the Advocates for Youth.
Is it a Choice?  Prepared by GLSEN, this is a great list of questions and answers for people in early stages of understanding homosexuality.
Gay Youth Factsheet

Factsheet developed by  Advocates for Youth that discusses sexual identity awareness, the role of schools and family, and issues related to students of color. Also available as a pdf.

 

Debbie Roffman's detailed definitions An expansion of the terms and definitions found in the core document and the glossary available on the front page.
Sexual Identity: The Cass Model Describes the process of identity development as people become aware of their homosexuality.
Sexual Identity: The Troiden Model
Another document, similar to the Cass Model, about identity development for gay people. The document was published in 1989 and refers to "typical ages" for development stages; in today's more open and accepting world young people may reach these stages much earlier.
Supportive Families, Healthy Children This pdf from San Fransisco State University is geared twards "helping families with lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender children"
Youth Resource
