Here is a list of advocacy resources for teachers, parents and students.

Gay Rights A thorough clearinghouse for current events with easy links allowing people to take action on a variety of important GLBT topics.
Policy Options Models
Developed by Debbie Roffman, this document presents four models that schools follow for addressing homosexuality. Park faculty members (and teachers from other schools) will find this useful for making their own assessments about current school climate.
Advocates for Youth

"Advocates for Youth champions efforts to help young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health."

Their GLBTQ section is terrific, easy to navigate, is filled with fact and data filled language, and features straightforward to the point language and is relatively jargon free. The site contains lesson plans and a bunch of helpful "Tips and Strategies" for working with various youth populations. Debbie Roffman calls this site "one of the premiere sites in the field". A stellar resource for faculty and advisors who want to feel more informed and empowered about the issues GLBTQ teens face.

GroundSpark
GroundSpark creates films and educational materials that promote social justice. These include "It's Elementary", "That's a Family" and "Straight-Laced". Films are available for all grade levels at school. These films are available at school. Please contact Susannah Wolf for more information.
Just the Facts About Sexual Orientation and Youth
A primer, written for adults. "The publication serves as a guide for employees who confront sensitive issues involving gay, lesbian and bisexual students. It is intended to help school administrators foster safe and healthy school environments, in which all students can achieve to the best of their ability. "Just the Facts" includes the most recent information from professional health organizations, as well as up-to-date information on the legal responsibility of school officials to protect students from anti- gay harassment."
National Youth Advocacy Coalition (NYAC)
A social justice organization that advocates for and with young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ) in an effort to end discrimination against these youth and to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
COLAGE

In this scene from the popular Fox drama glee Kurt has just redecorated the room that he and Finn will be sharing. Kurt and Finn are both members of the glee club and their parents have begun seriously dating.  Finn often stands up for those who are different at school including Kurt, who has a secret crush on Finn. (Can you see why our students love this show?)
